 A WORK IN PROGRESS

The BANANAplant, along with Bamboo, Hemp & Coconuts, is one of humanity's most useful plants! It is said that the so-called 'Developed World' has adopted its fruit as a staple and that over 90% of households buy bananas on a weekly basis. However in Australia only a tiny portion of the plants FOOD VALUE is used and almost NONE of its FIBRE VALUE is understood.

THIS MUST CHANGE!

There are over 1,000 different varieties of bananas worldwide, subdivided into 50 groups, ranging in size, color, and flavor. While the Cavendish banana is the most common commercial variety, others include Plantains (cooking bananas), Red bananas, Lady Fingers, and Blue Java.

Key Banana Varieties
Cavendish: The most common yellow banana found in supermarkets.
Plantains: Starchy, large bananas used primarily for cooking.
Red Bananas: Small with reddish-purple skin and sweet, creamy flesh.
Lady Finger: Tiny, thin-skinned, and very sweet.
Blue Java (Ice Cream Banana): Known for a bluish peel and vanilla-custard flavor.
Gros Michel: A historically popular variety that is sweeter than Cavendish.
Goldfinger: A disease-resistant, versatile variety.
Manzano (Apple Banana): Small, firm, with a slight apple-strawberry flavor.
Despite the large number of varieties, the global market relies heavily on the Cavendish, which is currently threatened by diseases like Panama disease
